Dumbledore In Harry Potter And The Half Blood Prince

Article by Allan Michael Taylor

Every character has a significant role to play whether in the opening or in the end of a exacting saga. Harry Potter is one sequence in which every role is well defined and emphasised, where everyone is created for a idea, and as soon as their idea is completed, they vanish or meet their termination.

Albus Dumbledore, the headmaster of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, is an key focal point in Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince. His role throughout the story has been prying and questioning. He quite suddenly appears to bring Harry from Privet Drive, at the start off of the legend, taking the right of taking him back to Hogwarts. Harry is quite concerned upon his act but later he discovers that it was just to take him on a job in order to convince an old Potions teacher, Horace Slughorn, to return to Hogwarts.

At first, Harry couldn’t understand his input in the wiles until the latter half of the tale when he comes to know that the professor is withholding an imperative memory in his mind about Lord Voldemort, which Dumbledore wants to unravels. At Hogwarts, Harry is asked to take secluded classes with Dumbledore in which he learns in detail about the past of Voldemort using the thoughts of other people that were fundamental and awfully essential.

All through the memories, Dumbledore tells every vital aspect of Voldemort’s past to Harry and they both visit each place that he has been to, through Pensieve. Horace Slughorn retrieved a memory of chat between him and Lord Voldemort regarding gaining immortality by forming Horcruxes. Hence, Dumbledore in this part wants Harry to locate Horcruxes and destroy them before eventually killing the soul residing in his body.

According to the legend, six Horcruxes were formed among which is the Marvolo Gaunt’s ring that Dumbledore wore on his charred hand. He damaged his own hand in order to obliterate one of the Horcrux. In order to destroy more Horcruxes, Dumbledore and Harry set out to a seaside cave where they expect to find one saved in a locket. In order to get back the locket, a potion had to be drunk before.

Dumbledore dares to drink the potion. As he drinks it, he starts screaming and seems as if he is mentally tortured along with becoming weaker. As he shouts for water, Harry fills the bowl with water from the Inferi-lake, which are activated and attack Harry and try to drag him in the lake as well. However, Dumbledore regains his awareness and produces a fire lasso around them, which repels the Inferi.

As they return to Hogwarts from the cave, they face Death Eaters storming into Dumbledore’s office as they force Draco Malfoy to kill him. In the meantime, he casts a body-binding spell on Harry unseen underneath the Invisibility cloak. When Malfoy is unable to kill Dumbledore, Snape appears on the site and casts the killing curse on Dumbledore. After Dumbledore’s death, the preparations for his funeral begin. He was buried in velvet shroud in white sarcophagus tomb near the lake.

Dumbledore stayed to be the only professor who was buried in the school grounds. A lot of people from across the wizard world visit Hogwarts to pay salutations and regards to him. Overall, the role of Dumbledore remains to be an wonderful part of the complete tale for the great Harry Potter fans.

Don’t miss Dumbledore and all the other characters in the new Harry Potter film at your local cinema from 15th July 2009.

Daniel Radcliffe: 'I AM Harry Potter' | The Wrap Movies

We’re pretty sure there’s a spell in the “Harry Potter” series that turns an actor into a total douchebag and “inhabits” his character to the degree that everyone hates him. (No wait — that was Val Kilmer in “The Doors.” Apologies for the mix-up.)

Daniel Radcliffe, on the other hand, gets it.

See this interview in which he insists that he’s Harry Potter, who then plays the actor when he’s not on set.

Part Of Horace Slughorn In Harry Potter And The Half Blood Prince:

Article by Allan Michael Taylor

The specialty of the Harry Potter saga is that in every part, a new role is established that is admired by the viewers. Parallel is the case with the imminent new movie of Harry Potter saga called Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince in which the character of Professor Horace Slughorn is quite liked by the spectators.

The movie is full of expectation, adventure based high light, and coil. This thrilling and superb movie is observed as the most anticipated and highly predictable movie of the year by the fans. The role of Professor Horace Slughorn is very vital, remarkable and amasing in the movie.

Harry Potter is waiting in Privet Drive (His aunt and uncle’s house) for Albus Dumbledore to come and lead him to his friend Ronald Weasley’s house. Nonetheless, Dumbledore takes Harry Potter to let him meet Horace Slughorn, who is an old teacher of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Dumbledore wants Harry to make Slughorn agree to teach at Hogwarts. After having a meeting with Harry, Professor Slughorn agree to teach at Hogwarts.

Harry waits him to teach ‘Defense Against the Dark Arts’. In the Hogwarts articulate, Horace Slughorn bring in his new club ‘The Slug Club’. Slughorn is a very kind hearted and nice man by nature. He supports the students for their extraordinary good work. The Slug club is all about those students or their parents who have done something radiant or remarkable in their lives. Harry starts liking Professor Slughorn.

On the start of his sixth year at Hogwarts, Harry gets his first shock when he comes to know that Horace Slughorn is going to teach potions at Hogwarts. ‘Potions’ has always been Harry’s least desired subject, because Professor Severus Snape had been teaching it whom Harry has hated since the day he met him.

Professor Slughorn was the one who gave Harry an old copy of potion making, which was the property of a baffling wizard Half Blood Prince. In the end, Severus Snape turns out as the Half Blood Prince. Slughorn encourages Harry in the class. By using the ideal spells written on the potions book, Harry grows the favorite and the most radiant student of the class.

The Story takes a suspense-filled culmination when Dumbledore in his personal meetings with Harry told him that he has to get a vital memory from Slughorn. The memory is based on Voldemort when he asks Slughorn about Horcruxes. Harry tries many times, but Slughorn is not at all willing to give him the memory. At last, Harry uses the luck potion Slughorn has once given him. Eventually he is successful in getting that sluggish memory from Slughorn.

In the reminiscence, Voldemort asks Slughorn about the Horcuxes. Slughorn tells him that the Horcruxes are the alienated parts of his soul; he can divide his soul in to maximum seven and then he can become immortal. Voldemort does the same and divides his soul into seven parts. In this way, his role is very essential, as he is the one who tells Voldemort about this extremely unsafe dark art.
