Dumbo

Dumbo

Let your spirits soar as you travel beyond the big top to Walt Disney's timeless classic! In celebration of this landmark film's 70th anniversary, Dumbonow includes a thrilling digital restoration and never-before-seen bonus features! When Mrs. Jumbo's little "Baby Mine" finally arrives, Dumbo and his oversized ears become the talk of the circus. With the help of his loyal best friend, Timothy Mouse, a magic feather and a ton of courage, Dumbo uses his sensational ears to soar to fame as the world's one and only flying elephant! Full of daring adventure, memorable characters, award-winning music and inspiring messages about the power of friendship and belief in yourself, Dumbowill become a treasured part of your family's collection of classic movies.A Disney "classic" that actually is a classic, Dumbo should be part of your video collection whether or not you have children. The storytelling was never as lean as in Dumbo, the songs rarely as haunting (or just plain weird), the characters rarely so well defined. The film pits the "cold, cruel, heartless" world that can't accept abnormality against a plucky, and mute, hero. Jumbo Jr. (Dumbo is a mean-spirited nickname) is ostracized from the circus pack shortly after his delivery by the stork because of his big ears. His mother sticks up for him and is shackled. He's jeered by children (an insightful scene has one boy poking fun at Dumbo's ears, even though the youngster's ears are also ungainly), used by the circus folk, and demoted to appearing with the clowns. Only the decent Timothy Q. Mouse looks out for the little guy. Concerns about the un-PC "Jim Crow" crows, who mock Dumbo with the wonderful "When I See an Elephant Fly," should be moderated by remembering that the crows are the only social group in the film who act kindly to the little outcast. If you don't mist up during the "Baby Mine" scene, you may be legally pronounced dead. --Keith Simanton

Article by NetwebsiteDOTIn

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 2 is an upcoming 2011 epic fantasy film directed by David Yates and the second of two films based on the novel of the same name by J. K. Rowling. It is the eighth and final instalment in the Harry Potter film series, written by Steve Kloves and produced by David Heyman, David Barron and Rowling. The story continues to follow Harry Potter on a quest to find and destroy Lord Voldemort’s remaining Horcruxes. The film stars Daniel Radcliffe as Harry Potter, alongside Rupert Grint and Emma Watson as Harry’s best friends Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger. The supporting cast features Ralph Fiennes, Michael Gambon, Alan Rickman, Helena Bonham Carter and Maggie Smith.

Principal photography began on 19 February 2009 (2009-02-19) and was completed on 12 June 2010 (2010-06-12), with the final day of reshoots taking place on 21 December 2010 marking the series’ closure of ten years of filming. Part 2 will be released in 3D, along with 2D formats, in IMAX on 15 July 2011 (2011-07-15).

After destroying one Horcrux and discovering the significance of the three Deathly Hallows, Harry, Ron, and Hermione continue to seek Lord Voldemort’s remaining Horcruxes in an attempt to destroy him. Meanwhile, Voldemort has obtained the as of yet unbeatable Elder Wand, and he aims to complete his final stage to ultimate power. He launches an attack on Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry in an effort to bring Harry to the final battle against the Dark forces that threaten to take over the Wizarding and Muggle worlds. In the end, the final battle between Harry Potter and Lord Voldemort takes place at Hogwarrts, when they fall of the edge of a cliff, and Harry says “It’s going to end where we both started” and he holds on to Voldemort as they fall, they land to the ground and start fighting.

In an interview with Architectural Digest, production designer Stuart Craig remarked on creating sets for Part 2. On the Gringotts Wizarding Bank, he said, “our banking hall, like any other, is made of marble and big marble columns. And it has great strength. The fact that the goblins are the bankers and tellers at the counter helps that feeling of grandeur and solidity and the big proportions. That was part of the fun of the set: we exaggerated the size of it, we exaggerated the weight of it, and we even exaggerated the shine of the marble.” About the multiplication of treasure in one of the bank’s vaults, he noted, “We made literally thousands of pieces for it and vacuum metalized them to be shiny gold and silver. John Richardson, the special effects supervisor, made a floor that was capable of rising on different levels, so there was kind of a physical swelling of theCraig spoke about the Battle of Hogwarts to Art Insights Magazine, saying that “the great challenge is the destruction of Hogwarts. The sun rising behind the smoke … the massive remains of destroyed walls, the entrance hall, the entrance of the Great Hall, part of the roof of the Great Hall completely gone, so yeah. A big challenge there and an enjoyable one really – maybe it helped me and the guys in the art department sort of prepare for the end … we demolished it before we had to strike it completely.” When asked about the King’s Cross scene near the end of the film, Craig said, “We experimented a lot, quite honestly. I mean it was quite a protracted process really but we did experiment the sense of it being very burnt out very very kind of white – so we experimented with underlit floors, we experimented with different kind of white covering everything: white paint, white fabric, and the cameraman was involved in how much to expose it, and a series of camera tests were done, so we got there but with a great deal of preparation and research.”

Visual effects companies that worked on Part 1 (including Double Negative and Industrial Light & Magic) also worked on the visuals for Part 2. Visual Effects Supervisor Tim Burke said that “It was such a major job to stage the Battle of Hogwarts, and we had to do it in different stages of production. We had shots with complex linking camera moves from wide overviews, to flying into windows and interior spaces. So, we took the plunge at the end of 2008 and started rebuilding the school digitally with Double Negative.” He went on to say that “It’s taken two years – getting renders out, texturing every facet of the building, constructing interiors to see through windows, building a destruction version of the school. We can design shots with the knowledge that we have this brilliant digital miniature that we can do anything with. With a practical Hogwarts, we would have shot it last summer and been so tied down. Instead, as David Yates finds the flow and structure, we are able to handle new concepts and ideas.”

On the quality of 3D in film, Burke told Los Angeles Times, “I think it’s good, actually. I think people are going to be really pleased. I know everyone’s a little nervous and skeptical of 3-D these days, but the work has been done very, very well. We’ve done over 200 shots in 3D and in the visual effects as well, because so much of it is CG, so the results are very, very good. I think everyone’s going to be really impressed with it, actually.” Producer David Heyman spoke to SFX magazine about the 3D conversion, saying that “The way David Yates is approaching 3D is he’s trying to approach it from a character and story point of view. Trying to use the sense of isolation, of separation that sometimes 3D gives you, to heighten that at appropriate moments. So we’re approaching it in a storytelling way.To View The Full HD free_movies_online_for_free

download Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince full movie

Article by Jon

Download harry potter movieIn the Hermione way, you follow the letter of the law, quoting verbatim the Ministry-approved textbook.

This approach was adopted by Chris Columbus, director of the first two “Harry Potter” films.

In the Harry way, you take a page from the Half-Blood Prince’s book, crossing out portions of the Ministry text in favor of your own adaptations.

This approach was adopted to varying degrees of success by Alfonso Cuaron and Mike Newell in the third and fourth films, experimented with by David Yates in the fifth film and almost perfected by Yates again with “Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince.”

This is the best of the six films to date, in part because of improved acting from the young cast, better production values, more consistent pacing and other things you’d expect a franchise to get right by now.

But also – and mostly – because the filmmakers thought outside the sorting hat. “Half-Blood Prince” veers from the book from the little details to the I-don’t-remember-THAT-happening moments. And it pulls it off, for the most part.

There’s a lot of “show, don’t tell” going on, where Yates and screenwriter Steve Kloves read between the lines of J.K. Rowling’s novel to bring to life unexpected sidenotes.

I’ve read all of these books several times each, and when a director can offer me two pleasant surprises within the first 10 minutes – I’m sold.

One of the most notable differences between the book and the film is the overall tone. The book was a tragedy with several comic elements. The film is a comedy with a few tragic elements.

No question, it’s more fun to watch Rupert Grint ham his way through love and Quidditch as Ron Weasley than mope around with unhappy adults.

Grint is one of the standouts of this film, along with moody Tom Felton as Draco Malfoy. I loved every second of Ron Weasley with Lavender Brown (Jessie Cave), Ron Weasley with his love potions, and Ron Weasley with Hermione Granger (Emma Watson).

(Also loved Hermione with Freddie Stroma’s Cormac McLaggen – that dynamic played out on film even better than in the text.)

However, on screen it still feels like Harry Potter (Daniel Radcliffe) belongs with Hermione, especially when she is given some of the Harry time I expected to go to Ginny Weasley (Bonnie Wright).

This is supposed to be the great unveiling of the Harry/Ginny romance, but their relationship is painfully awkward. Zero chemistry. Totally forced.

When directing a modern mainstream phenomenon like “Harry Potter” or “Twilight,” it’s understandable for the filmmakers to live in fear of the fans.

This is a cult where, if you so much as change the color of a character’s clothes, the fans will be ripped right out of the moment and want you to die.

But real talent comes with the courage to know the rules and when to break them.

However, like the Prince, Yates occasionally provides some “Sectumsempra” moments where you wonder what he was playing at.

The first half of “Half-Blood Prince” is exceptional, but the second half gives short shrift to what should be its emotional core.

I’m all for creative license, but there is a line you can’t cross – most notable to me in “Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire” when Michael Gambon’s Professor Dumbledore yelled at Harry and pushed him around. That’s not one man’s interpretation – that’s an entirely different character.

In this film, Dumbledore is more like Gandalf of “The Lord of the Rings,” but his relationship with Harry doesn’t develop nearly as much as it needs to.

Another vital relationship that gets shoddy film treatment is Harry and Tom Riddle. Rowling made key connections between their pasts in the book, and Harry even found himself empathizing with The Dark Lord.

But the film leaves out some of the details that bind these two characters together – and thereby the entire seven-book series. Still, this was my most enjoyable “Harry Potter” film experience to date, and the 2.5 hours didn’t drag (with the exception of Harry/Ginny moments) the way they can sometimes.

The core of this “Half-Blood Prince” is humor, not heart. That may not be the way Rowling wrote it, but this is not her film. Besides, as Ron and Harry note early on, we all need a good laugh these days.
