Why can’t you read the whole book on Pottermore?

Question by Asli_Hutcherson: Why can’t you read the whole book on Pottermore?
I love Pottermore and I’m enjoying it but in the books they leave out a lot of things.. Like when Dudley gets the tail from Hagrid, and Harry,Ron,and Hermione play wizards chess… I just got into Pottermore yestrerday so I don’t really know much about it .. Can anyone tell me how to read the whole book?

Answer by Narcissa Black Malfoy
Pottermore will not contain the entire text of the book. If you want to read the entire book, you will need to buy a copy. Pottermore is simply an online reading companion for the books. It touches on the highlights of the story and allows you to interact at points (for example, the sorting, potion making, dueling). Rowling has also included some great background material that you don’t get from the books.

Hope that answers your question.

Is Huffelpuff really the loser house of Hogwarts?

Question by WolfRose: Is Huffelpuff really the loser house of Hogwarts?
Okay so a lot of people are still saying that Hufflepuff is the loser house of Hogwarts. People on Pottermore are deleting their accounts and it’s just horrible. But why are they so bad? I mean it’s J.K. Rowling’s favorite house and Hufflepuffs do have qualities. They are hardworking, loyal, and honest students. They also tend to be smart (they just don’t shout about it) Also Tonks was a Hufflepuff (Lupin’s wife) which is pretty awesome so if anything…why wouldn’t you want to be a Hufflepuff? From what I hear they’re pretty great.

Because hufflepuff is the house that everyone makes fun of. I’m not sure why, they’re just the laughing stock of Hogwarts.

Cedric was a hufflepuff and I liked him c:

Where in Hogwarts is the magical quill located?

Question by Katia Anteon: Where in Hogwarts is the magical quill located?
I mean in the school – I know Professor McGonagall is the one who sends out letters to students, but where is it located (I need to know for a fan fiction I’m writing)? It might help to look at the pottermore homepage, but I can’t figure it out. Thank you!

I doubt it’s important where it is. Just say that it’s in her office, that’s what makes most sense.

Q&A: How to get all the choclate frog cards?

Question by Beyonce: How to get all the choclate frog cards?
Ok so I was playing Pottermore. And i went on someone elses profile. And it said they had 12 choclate frog cards. I know there are 11 and I have collected 11. But if there are 12 , can anyone please tell me where they are?

Best answer:

Answer by Narcissa
There are only 11. If someone has more than 11, it simply means one of their friends has sent them a chocolate frog card as a gift. You can send them to friends and re-collect them again.

Click and drag the spoon in the direction you need to stir (either clockwise or counterclockwise). It should tell you how many times you’ve stirred it and in what direction.

I did mine during the Beta stage and with the wand I had: phoenix core and reasonable supple and with the Sorting Hat, I had a hat stall between Gryffindor and Slytherin (I was eventually put into Gryffindor but I wanted to go to Slytherin) any I want to know if there is another website to redo it, just to see if in the year that has passed, if I anything would’ve changed. And pls don’t say create a new pottermore account

Q&A: When is pottermore open to everybody?

Question by toodlepip: When is pottermore open to everybody?
It was supposed to open a long time ago, but it didn’t.
I have been on pottermore insider, but it doesn’t actually say anything about opening dates, it just has pictures!?

They have not yet announced an updated release date, so no one knows when Pottermore will be opening. At the end of October the following was posted on the Insider:

“Since we launched Pottermore, our one million Beta users have given us lots of amazing feedback, and we’ve been collecting their thoughts and comments so that we can make Pottermore the best experience it can be before it opens to everyone.

After looking closely at all the information that we’ve gathered, we have decided to further extend the Beta period so we can improve Pottermore before giving more people access. This means the site will not be opening to new users in the immediate future, but please know that we will open registration as soon as we can.”

I am a beta user, and I can tell you that they have made a lot of great changes to the site recently. They have also fixed several of the major problems, so I would think that you won’t have to wait too much longer. My guess is that it will open to all sometime in early 2012. That’s just a guess though.

Q&A: Is Pottermore ever going to open?

Question by livelaughlove: Is Pottermore ever going to open?
The beta registration was in the summer I believe, and did not open for beta users until the late fall. Now, it is still not open to the public. Does anyone, aside from sending me the Pottermore Insider link, as it does not have any valuable info about this question, know or have a clue as to when Pottermore is opening up to the public? Thanks.
