Daniel Radcliffe and Lily Rabe NOT Cast in 'The Lucky One'

It was reported yesterday that Daniel Radcliffe’s first project after the completion of the Harry Potter films will be the adaptation of Nicholas SparksThe Lucky One. The film is to be directed by Doug McGrath with filming scheduled to start in May. It was cleared up today that this news is false. The original information came from a couple of tweet posts by the film’s producer Christine Vachon, who said the following:

According to /Film The Lucky One tells of US Marine Logan Thibault who finds a snapshot of a young woman when on duty in Iraq and feels that it brings him a tidal wave of good luck. After his tour is done and he returns to America, he sets off on a journey to track down the woman in his photograph. She’s Elizabeth, a young mother who is now divorced.

Among his theatre work Radcliffe has kept his resume updated with non-Potter films including December Boys and My Boy Jack so it will be interesting to see where his career heads after Harry Potter.

What do you think of The Lucky One? Who should be cast?

Daniel+Radcliffe+Equus Horse Play With Daniel Radcliffe The weekly look at all that’s in the works from Broadway to Hollywood and back again:

– For you muggles out there who couldn’t make it to London for his au naturale performance in Equus, Daniel Radcliffe promises that he will soon be blinding horses stateside by the end of next , if all goes well. Radcliffe’s Harry Potter uncle Richard Griffiths (Tony for The History Boys) will co-star.

– Like, ohmygod! Taking their cue from and Grease (both of which have been benefiting nicely from exposure in other mediums), Legally Blonde will soon be filmed live for a future broadcast on MTV. And if you so desire (and are willing to wear a pink shirt), you can even be in the audience.

– Speaking of Grease (and really, when are we not?), meet the revival’s scene-stealing Rizzo, Jenny Powers, and check out the track list for the newest cast recording, on sale October 2 ( here to pre-order the new album Horse Play With Daniel Radcliffefrom .).

Meanwhile, Grease: You’re the One That I Want hostess Denise Van Outen has (get this) been cast as the militant Maureen in London’s Rent. Not to be catty, but isn’t she a teensy bit past her prime mooing years?

– In more music news, original Maureen Idina Menzel has released a club mix of her big Wicked showstopper, the divalicious “Defying Gravity”. Click here to purchase the CD Horse Play With Daniel Radcliffefrom Amazon.com.

– As playwright Terrence McNally and stars Rosie Perez and Kevin Chamberlin chat up The Ritz, Seth Rudetsky dishes on his co-star/fellow “bathhouse patron” Ryan Idol. Seth also recounts his recent one-on-one with Xanadu hunk Cheyenne Jackson.

– Get ready to return to La Cage aux Folles, via a West End revival; no word yet if the star of the recent New York run, Gary Beach, will “strap on his fake boobs again” for it though.

Elsewhere, this is what the Episcopalians think about a high school musical about drag queens. Who woulda thunk it?

– Director Rob Marshall has revealed his star-studded, international cast for his big screen adaptation of Nine, although only one (Sophia Loren) is actually Italian.

– “They’re the Dreamgirls …” The originals, that is: Sheryl Lee Ralph, Loretta Devine and Jennifer Holliday will reunite in LA for a “one night only” benefit performance. And I’m telling you, I’m going … (OK, I’ll stop now.)

– Tours from around the world: 42nd Street in China, Little Shop of Horrors in the UK and 12 Angry Men in the US of A.

Billy Elliot, soon to be grande jeté-ing his way to Broadway, celebrates his 1,000th performance in London.

– Angela Arden has found her son. Charles Busch will be joined in Die Mommie Die! with current gay soap sensation Van Hansis (a.k.a. As the World Turns‘ Luke Snyder).

– In an unusual move, the producers of Young Frankenstein will reportedly not release the ’s weekly grosses. Hmmm …

The 39 Steps is stepping closer to Broadway.

– In our Hairspray news of the week, the title of this Playbill article says it all: “Love Finds Beaver Cleaver“.

– Do video games and show tunes mix? We’ll find out when The Last Starfighter takes to the stage.

– Remember the opening number of the movie Hair, with all the hippies dancing about, all Twyla Tharp-y like, in the middle of Central Park? Well, now you’ll be able to see that in person.

– While Claire Danes (who, having never seen My Fair Lady, must have had a really sad childhood) prepares for George Bernard Shaw’s Pygmalion, John Lithgow mulls a return to Broadway with Arthur Miller’s All My Sons.

– I don’t know why but I don’t care: the San Francisco Jersey Boys will perform on next Sunday’s Emmy Award telecast. For a taste of the original Broadway Four Seasons, here’s their electrifying performance at last year’s Tony Awards.

Harry Potter star Daniel Radcliffe plans to marry girlfriend « aprilslife

http://www.teennowmagazine.co.uk/teen-tv-films/530612/harry-potter-star-daniel-radcliffe-plans-to-marry-girlfriend

Lovebirds Daniel Radcliffe and Rosanne Coker could be taking their relationship to the next level very soon – a friend of the couple has revealed that the smitten actor is considering popping the question!

‘They’re crazy about each other. Dan wants to marry her,’ a pal tells The Sun.

Daniel started dating production assistant Rosanne a year ago after meeting her on the set of Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows: Part 1 but was forced to keep the relationship a secret by film bosses until after the movie’s release.

Now that shooting on Harry Potter has finished and they are free to flaunt their relationship, Daniel is making no attempt to hide the depth of his feelings.

‘I’m very much in love,’ he admits.

So we can expect an invite in the post then, Dan?

Daniel Radcliffe girlfriend: Rosanne Coker has bewitched Harry

It is a sight that will mean heartache for his millions of female admirers.

Daniel Radcliffe and a pretty brunette stroll hand in hand down a New York sidewalk.

And they are more than just good friends.

The girl in question, the Daily Mail can reveal, is Rosanne Coker, a 22-year-old painter and decorator’s daughter.

She's just magic: strongDaniel Radcliffe/strong and his girlfriend strongRosanne Coker/strong were seen hand in hand as they enjoyed a stroll around NYC on Tuesday ” class=”blkBorder” /p class=She’s just magic: Daniel Radcliffe and his girlfriend Rosanne Coker were seen hand in hand as they enjoyed a stroll around NYC on Tuesday

She first met Radcliffe when she worked as a production assistant on Harry Potter And The Half-Blood Prince in 2007.

In total they have worked on four films together, including the last three Harry Potter projects and The Woman In Black, the new Hammer movie which is due for release next year.

The pair then began dating a year ago and Miss Coker splits her time between her family’s £400,000 home in Surrey and Radcliffe’s luxury apartment in New York.

The couple were seen walking together in the city earlier this week. Radcliffe wore a plain blue T-shirt and shorts while his comprehensive school-educated girlfriend – known to friends as Rose – opted for black leggings, a lilac vest and a pair of flip-flops.

With a fortune estimated at £48milllion, Radcliffe, also 22, has been regarded as one of Britain’s most eligible bachelors.

Miss Coker’s father Malcolm runs his own painting and decorating business, while her mother Gillian is believed to design birthday cards.

Last night, Mr Coker revealed his delight at his daughter’s relationship but denied the pair were engaged.

He said: ‘I don’t want to say too much really as they would really prefer to keep things quiet.

‘But Rosanne has worked on the last three Harry Potter films, so she and Daniel have known each other quite a long time. But they have been going out for just over a year now.

‘I have met Daniel and he is a lovely guy. I’m just really happy for Rosanne and as long as she is happy that is all that matters to me.

‘No other parent would ask any more. I know it’s not a normal life they live. But they have a lot of fun together and at their age, what more could you ask?  Who knows where it is going to lead? She still lives over here in London and he is in New York a lot, but she wants to make sure that she continues her career and wants to achieve everything she set out to do.

‘I don’t think anyone realises how much he gets pestered.

‘I have been out for a meal with him and it just gets embarrassing. He feels awkward about it. You can ask people for privacy but they will just totally blank you.’

Miss Coker went to the respected Gordon’s School in Woking, Surrey. A voluntary-aided comprehensive, it is one of the most successful non-selective schools in Britain.

A former acquaintance recalled: ‘Rosanne was very sporty at school. She was on the netball team and was very popular and had a lot of friends. She was also very clever and got really good grades. She was just a really nice person.’

Last month, Radcliffe told U.S. chat show host Larry King that he had fallen in love. He said: ‘I’ve got a girlfriend at the moment, who I am very much in love with. So you know, we’ll see where that goes.’

Speaking in May to GQ magazine, he told how he had quit drinking after starting a relationship. He said: ‘I now have a girlfriend I’ve been going out with for eight months.’

He added: ‘As much as I would love to be a person that goes to parties and has a couple of drinks and has a nice time – that doesn’t work for me.

‘I do that very unsuccessfully. I’d just rather sit at home and read, or go out dinner with someone, or talk to somebody I love, or talk to somebody that makes me laugh.’

At the time, some reports erroneously claimed the mystery woman was Olive Uniacke, 20, his close friend and the stepdaughter of Harry Potter producer David Heyman.

Radcliffe has only gone public with one girlfriend since starring in the first Harry Potter film in 2001. In 2007, it emerged that he was dating Irish actress Laura O’Toole, now 26, after meeting during the West End stage play Equus, but the couple split in early 2008.

In 2010 he was seen spending time with Miss Uniacke but later that year he also admitted he wasn’t having  much luck with the ladies. ‘I’m not getting too many responses, but, yes, I’m having a go,’ he said of his attempts to find a girlfriend.

He’s not going to stay inside all the time. It’s not his fault the paps follow him around.

Umm, no Jim–for those who have never been to Manhattan, it is not uncommon to see celebrities out with their girlfriends/boyfriends/partners/significant others. Just because Daniel chose to take a walk in what is obviously a residential area does NOT mean that “he has decided to make the affair public”

How can I send a video clip to Daniel Radcliffe?

Question by jade123: How can I send a video clip to Daniel Radcliffe?
OK so I wanted to send a video clip to Daniel Radcliffe and a piece of paper to sign. That’s it. I don’t want his personal info or anything, I just want to know a place where he can receive it. I’m not some crazy fan girl trying to get his personal info. Just a fanmail address. Please no rude comments.

‘Harry Potter’ vet’s new horror-flick footage might be clichéd, but that doesn’t mean it’s not effective.
By Eric Ditzian and Josh Wigler

Daniel Radcliffe in “The Woman in Black”
Photo: Alliance Films

If the teaser trailer for Daniel Radcliffe’s “The Woman in Black” surprised us in April with just how darn creepy it was (as opposed to the more thriller-driven supernatural story we were expecting), the new, full trailer has opened our eyes to the full, horror-heavy potential of the actor’s first post-“Harry Potter” role.

Our eyes are open, sure, but they also closed, admittedly, once or six times, as we took in viewing after viewing of the footage in preparation for our latest trailer commentary. Hit “Play” on the video to watch along with us, and then read on for a deeper dive into the action, which begins with a seriously eerie silence.

From there, it must be said, the trailer incorporates a whole lot of familiar horror-movie tropes. The first is those creepy children. Not only do we get creepy kids, we get creepy kids delivering narration in rhymes. It might be clichéd, but that doesn’t mean it’s not effective. And it’s good to see Radcliffe taking on material that truly forces him to step outside the Quidditch pitch.

Between “How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying” on Broadway, then “The Woman in Black” and fare like “All Quiet on the Western Front,” the 22-year-old actor isn’t shying away from less-poppy projects. That’s all part of his plan: different material, no break after his decade-long “Potter” run.

“If I had been taking some time off and not doing stuff, I think the temptation in terms of the media and the public, to a certain extent, is [that] if you don’t hear from a child star for a while, you can kind of condemn them to the been-and-gone pile,” Radcliffe told MTV News in the spring. “I wanted to make sure that didn’t happen.”

We haven’t, however, gotten to see much of his creative range in any of the “Woman in Black” trailers. What we have seen is that he’s excellent at staring at things. In the new footage, he stares from carriages, out windows, in mansions, and just kind of longingly off into the distance. Perhaps Radcliffe has been taking some lessons from Derek Zoolander. Hey, if he can just stare at things for the next 20 years, he’s guaranteed a career.

Halfway through the trailer, we find ourselves facing another horror movie cliché: bloody writing on the wall. Listen up, people! If you ever find bloody writing on a wall, get the hell out of there! If this moment occurs, say, 20 minutes into the movie, the entire thing should be 25 minutes long, with the last five minutes devoted to a single uncut shot of Radcliffe fleeing as fast as his little legs will take him.

Yet this literal writing-on-the-wall gives us the biggest — or, really, the only — peek into the film’s plot, which the trailer, to its credit, doesn’t deeply explore. Here’s what we already know: Based on a 1983 novel by Susan Hill, the story follows Radcliffe’s Arthur Kipps, a young lawyer dispatched to sort out a recently deceased client’s affairs, only to discover the nearby town is haunted by the ghost of a scorned woman. So does the bloody writing relate to the past, scorn-producing events? To someone speaking from beyond the grave? Possibly to Radcliffe himself?

There are many different ways to interpret it. Many interpretations, yes, but only one conclusion: Run, Harry, run! But run, clearly, he does not do soon enough, as the trailer ends with Radcliffe coming dangerously close to a demonic-looking woman. Is this the woman in black? Well, it’s a woman and she’s wearing black. And she has those blacked-out eyes, a nod to a photo earlier in the trailer, featuring a family with scratched-out eyes. So, for now, we’ll keep an open mind on everything except this: “Woman in Black” looks pretty damn scary.

Now, we’ll open our eyes. Please excuse us while we go throw up.

Check out everything we’ve got on “The Woman in Black.”
