Q&A: How can learn new Harry Potter information on Pottermore without doing the games, duels, and potion making?

Question by : How can learn new Harry Potter information on Pottermore without doing the games, duels, and potion making?
I find them a waste of time. Especially since school starts tomorrow and I wont have time to do any of it. Is there a version of the site or another site that I can learn the information?

Answer by Narcissa Black Malfoy
You don’t have to do the games like dueling or potion making to read the new information. You can just click through the various moments and read all the information. The games are optional.

Also, JK Rowling is putting the extra content exclusively on Pottermore, so, no, there is no other site where you can find her new material (unless of course someone has copied it from Pottermore, which is a violation of the terms of use).

Harry Potter Wands: Fascinating Information about Harry Potter Wands

Article by Shane Alexander

Since the starting of all issues magical there has also always been wands. A Harry Potter wand is a single of those unique products inside the JK Rowling series that may be a continuous all through every and every single film. The fact is, if our Hogwart’s heros (and heroines!) didn’t have access to these magical item then they wouldn’t have achieved the majority of the heroic feats we have witnessed them obtain all through the 7 Harry Potter films to date.

In ancient and mystical times, the Druids made use of to pride themselves on recognizing all about every single single tree growing in their particular forest. Trees had been a sacred entity to these smart males and they had the utmost of respect for them. The ash tree was meant to become unique and vital for its potential to heal wounds, cedar was for energy and elm enabled the Druids to add power to their spells.Significantly like our horoscopes currently, the Druids also had a similiar calender process but this technique wasn’t according to astronomical indicators, it was determined by – yes you guessed it – trees. There were 13 of those indicators which integrated Reed, Rowan, Birch and Ivy. Below we can see this calender to get a much better idea.

. Birch: Dec 24th – Jan 20. Rowan: Jan 21 – Feb 17. Ash: Feb 18 – Mar 17. Alder: Mar 18 – Apr 14. Willow: Apr 15 – Might 12. Hawthorn: May perhaps 13 – Jun 9. Oak: Jun ten – Jul 7. Holly: Jul 8 – Aug four. Hazel: Aug five – Sep 1. Vine: Sep two – Sep 29. Ivy: Sep 30 – Oct 27. Reed: Oct 28 – Nov 24. Elder: Nov 25 – Dec 22

If you are of the perceptive type, you will have noticed that there s no tree sign for an individual born on the 23rd of December. This can be mainly because they implemented a calender based no the moon which had thirteen months and twenty eight days, this really is turn made the year up to only have 364 days in it. For this cause, the 23 December is still considered a really critical date to witches and wizards right up to this very day!

So now we know somewhat much more about wands, who applied them and exactly where they came from. But how were they created?

Particular tree wood forms suit certain men and women and only work nicely if the person holding the wand has the character to match that with the wood it was produced from. This can be extremely apparent within the choice of Harry Potter wands we see all through the films. Next time you sit down to watch on the list of films, make a note to find out what form of wand each character uses and if it matches their character – chances are you’ll just get a pleasant surprise. The Harry Poter wands will match the characteristics of the Harry Potter characters you will discover!

The core is probably the most significant aspect, so says the master of wands himself – Ollivander (Gregorovitch also claims this, we locate). Appear in the core as becoming the heart with the wand. Its very lifeforce in the event you will. The core could be mae from a variety of things, like phoenix feather or unicorn’s hair. Which core you choose says a whole lot about you and what you worth so in case you ever get the likelihood – pick out your wand carefully!

Wand users grow incredibly attached to their possession from a young age. But the huge question is: Would be the wand causing this attachment or is it all within the master’s head?! We may possibly never ever know! Perhaps it really is a little of both.

Wand powers are usually not visible to the naked eye – like air. But carry out the Lumos spell and all of a sudden you might witness the bright and luminous power functioning its magic inside a crystal clear view.We have now run above what Harry Potter wands are, where they came from, what components they’re produced from, how they function and also other random fascinating details.

Now, in case you excuse us, we must go play with our wands and carry out some magic!

Oh No They Didn't!

Potter fan sites from around the globe helped us with the Pottermore name reveal, and now those same fan sites have been kind enough to tell us what their readers most want to know about the Pottermore experience.

While we can’t give everything away (even though we know you’d like us to!), we’d really love to answer some of your questions …

Will Pottermore be available in multiple languages?
Yes. Initially, Pottermore will be available in English, French, German, Italian and Spanish. We are aiming to introduce more languages in the future – including Japanese and Korean later this year. You’ll be able to keep track of language availability here on the Insider.

Will Pottermore be free?
Yes, access to Pottermore will be completely free; you won’t have to pay anything to use the site. The Pottermore Shop will have items in it that you’ll be able to buy, but choosing to purchase something – or not – won’t affect your progress through the story as the Shop sits outside of the online reading experience.

Can you please explain what you mean by ‘online reading experience’? How much will I, as a Pottermore user, be able to affect the story? After all, hasn’t Harry’s story already been told?
The best way to think of Pottermore is as an interactive, illustrated companion to the books. J.K. Rowling wanted to create a site where her stories could live on and where readers could explore them in a new way. In addition to discovering new material from J.K. Rowling about Harry’s world, you’ll be able to interact with key story Moments (the Sorting Hat sequence, for example) and upload your own comments, thoughts and artwork for all the characters, objects and places that you come across.

So Pottermore isn’t a massively multiplayer online role-playing game like World of Warcraft, or a social network game like Farmville?
No. While there will be some simple games you can play (you’ll be able to brew potions, for example), Pottermore is very much about the books: being able to experience Harry’s story in a new way and discover all the additional information that J.K. Rowling has written.

Isn’t there a House Cup that we compete for by earning points?
Yes, there is. As you progress through the story you’ll also be able to earn house points – and once you get to the end of the first book you can carry on earning points to help your house win the House Cup.

Would you say Pottermore is a social network for fans of Harry Potter?
Not really. Pottermore isn’t trying to compete with sites like Facebook or the Harry Potter forums and fan sites that are already out there. Once you’ve signed up to Pottermore you’ll be able to find and invite your Facebook friends (if you’re over thirteen) and leave comments in your house common room and the Great Hall, but Pottermore isn’t a social networking site where you can share personal information or chat in forums.

I saw the Sony logo at the top of Pottermore.com. What’s Sony’s involvement with the site?
Sony is the primary partner of Pottermore. They have been consulted and involved in the development of the site experience and will offer a range of products and services to Pottermore users.

Is Pottermore the Harry Potter encyclopedia?
J.K. Rowling has written exclusive new material especially for Pottermore giving unique insights, back stories and additional information about the characters, places and objects in the Harry Potter series. For now, Pottermore is the only place you’ll be able to find new information from J.K. Rowling about Harry’s world, and we’ll be releasing this material as each of the seven books appears on the site.

Once I’ve been sorted, will I be able to change houses?
J.K. Rowling has created a series of questions for the Sorting Hat, and how you answer these questions will determine which of the four houses you’ll be in. Once you’ve been sorted, you won’t be able to change; the Sorting Hat’s decision is final!

What formats will the ebooks be available in? Will I be able to read them on my iPad/Sony eReader/Kindle…?
The Pottermore Shop is due to open in October. Our aim is to offer the ebooks in an as many formats as possible. We’ll provide more information closer to the time.

I’ve submitted my email to the Pottermore website – does this mean I’m registered with Pottermore.com?
Not yet. If you’ve submitted your email address to the site, we’ll use it to let you know when site registration is open to everyone. In other words, once you’ve received an email from us, you’ll be able to visit Pottermore.com and complete the registration process.

Remember, to get into Hogwarts you must have magical ability…

What’s going to happen on 31 July?
We don’t want to ruin the surprise but something will be happening on Pottermore.com on 31 July. Come back to the site, or keep an eye on the Pottermore Insider (
http://insider.pottermore.com) and our Pottermore Twitter feed for details.

Is the Pottermore Owl Twitter account official?
No, it’s not – but we kind of wish we’d thought of it!

E-Books in Your Life

(PRWEB) May 26, 2005

E-Books are making a big impact in the way we write books, read books, store books, share books, and most importantly how we gain knowledge from books and apply it in real life. There is nothing holding back an expert with years of experience on a particular field to write about all the ins and outs, trade secrets, strengths and weaknesses of the industry.

Consider Colm Dillon, the author of “Residential Development Made Easy”. He has 30 years and $ 1.2 Billion worth of professional real estate development experience. Dillon wrote his book purely from experience and practical usage. His eBook is now selling in 63 countries and directly available on the Internet.

More and more shoppers are now buying books online. If you purchase a physical book that you have been dying to get your hands on, you still have to wait for shipping and delivery before you can start reading. With E-Books you get instant delivery 24×7. No more waiting and watching the clock. While the inspiration and interest is hot, you get to download your favorite business book and start reading away.

Imagine, discovering an E-Book called “Business Plans” at 11.30 pm, decided to buy and download the book at 12.05 am, finished reading it by 2.00 am. The 10 o’clock meeting next morning, and you are already a guru on Business Plans and opportunities to lead you company to new frontiers.

And that E-Book is very easy to share with your spouse or friend, just email it. The E-book will never wear out for millions of years to come. Hundreds of thousands of E-Books can be carried in the palm of your hand no matter where you go in a flash-drive or portable disk.

E-Books are the new media for traditional physical books, but are E-Books here to stay? Consider Joe Vitale, author of numerous successful E-Books and more recently famous for “Attractor Factor” which has already outsold Harry Potter as #1 bestseller twice in two weeks. E-books are carving the path for many talented authors around the world. E-books are not only here to stay but also becoming very popular.

How difficult is it to locate E-Books of your choice on the web? Business.marc8.com (http://business.marc8.com) makes it easy. How? Only best sellers on business E-Books are listed. This makes the selection process narrow and helps you locate the best available information. Instead of searching on the Internet for many hours, surfing from site to site, at http://business.marc8.com you have the entire best-seller selections for a given month categorized, ranked, and presented to you. Bookmarking becomes manageable too. Instead of bookmarking numerous pages on the Internet, just bookmark http://business.marc8.com. Every month you will get a fresh list of business best sellers. What website online can I explore Hogwarts as my own character?

Question by Christopher Elpedal: What website online can I explore Hogwarts as my own character?
Can you also tell me if you can explore Hogwarts on Pottermore? Or is Pottermore just forums?

Best answer:

Answer by Harry Is My Homeboy
On Pottermore, you travel through the books just as Harry did, but with added information about characters. Also, you are sorted into your own house, get your own wand and get a pet of your choice.

Daniel Radcliffe and Lily Rabe NOT Cast in 'The Lucky One'

It was reported yesterday that Daniel Radcliffe’s first project after the completion of the Harry Potter films will be the adaptation of Nicholas SparksThe Lucky One. The film is to be directed by Doug McGrath with filming scheduled to start in May. It was cleared up today that this news is false. The original information came from a couple of tweet posts by the film’s producer Christine Vachon, who said the following:

According to /Film The Lucky One tells of US Marine Logan Thibault who finds a snapshot of a young woman when on duty in Iraq and feels that it brings him a tidal wave of good luck. After his tour is done and he returns to America, he sets off on a journey to track down the woman in his photograph. She’s Elizabeth, a young mother who is now divorced.

Among his theatre work Radcliffe has kept his resume updated with non-Potter films including December Boys and My Boy Jack so it will be interesting to see where his career heads after Harry Potter.

What do you think of The Lucky One? Who should be cast?
